Following changes that have been made to your homepage, you may not see the changes right away or they may be displaying incorrectly. This can be down to Caching.
What is Caching?
Caching is a process that helps your web browser load websites faster by storing certain pieces of information from the sites you visit, like images and data. When you revisit a site, your browser uses this stored information instead of downloading everything again, which speeds things up.
However, sometimes the cache can hold onto old versions of a webpage, which might cause you to see outdated content. That’s why refreshing the cache by pressing CONTROL and F5 can be helpful—it clears out the old data and lets your browser load the most up-to-date version of the page.
Why is refreshing the cache important?
When changes are made to the site, you might still see an old or partially scrambled version of it. This happens because your network or device may still be holding onto the previous version of the site.
Unfortunately, we can't control this from our end, as it's dependent on your network or device settings. To resolve this, try pressing Ctrl + F5 to refresh the cache and load the latest version of the site.
What if Ctrl + F5 Doesn’t Work?
If you’ve tried refreshing but the old version is still showing, check the site on a different network, like your home Wi-Fi or mobile data. If the updates appear there but not on your school’s network, the cache on the school network might need resetting. Please contact your IT team to assist with this.
